een presentatie van de 100 best ontworpen boeken uit vlaanderen en nederland van de laatste 6 jaar. het tentoonstellingsbeeld was schreeuwerig en lijkt tweedimensionaal, er was geen boek te zien. The Dutch language was the theme for this edition of the Buchmesse. One of the dedicated activities consisted of a presentation of the best designed books from the Netherlands and Flanders over a 6 year period. Graphic design in itself was chosen as a leitmotiv for the design of the exhibition. How do ’best designed books’ keep up in an environment dominated by commercial messages. The exhibition was visually loud, to say the least, and at first hand it seemed difficult to find the exhibited books at all. To help the viewer, the titles of the books and the names of the designers were printed in a labyrinthine approach. One could find the titles by simply following the writing on the floor. The Frankfurt Book Fair (German: Frankfurter Buchmesse) is the world’s largest trade fair for books, based on the number of publishing companies represented. As to the number of visitors. |
