opdracht gegeven een postzegel voor nederland te ontwerpen

wij vroegen ons af: hoe ziet nederland eruit in de ogen van andere landen? zoals het cliché van de molens , tulpen, van gogh en rietveld?, zoals de eiffeltoren voor frankrijk.
wat is een nederlandse postzegel?
is dat als er een clichébeeld op staat of nog makkelijker als er ‘nederland’op staat?

hoe nederlands is de postzegel, die door een buitenlandse ontwerper is vormgegeven?

op een symposium stond de positie van de ontwerper in europa ter discussie.

To commemorate the EC’s Maastricht Treaty, Dutch PTT invited 12 designers from the then member countries to design a postage stamp for The Netherlands.
The question was: How is Holland seen through the eyes of other European nationals? what do windmills, tulips, Van Gogh or Rietveld mean cliché-wise? Is a Dutch stamp ’Dutch’ if ’Nederland’ is printed on it? Is a Dutch stamp, designed by a designer of a different nationality still Dutch?
At a symposium the central topic was the position of the European graphic designer in general.
