Annelie Lütgens, Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg

In 1997 the kunstmuseum Wolfsburg set out to stage a major retrospective on contemporary art in Brasil, only to find out that most of the iconic works had perished due to the art-unfriendly climate of the country. What turned out to have remained intact though were photographic works so the first major retrospective of Brazilian photography in Germany could be staged at the museum.
