“signs in the street” is de titel van de nederlandse bijdrage aan de internationale tentoonstelling van de 18e triënale van milaan. er werd besloten binnen het masterplan van aldo rossi, die de algemene indeling van de triënale bedacht, een “straatkruising” te ontwerpen. een oude en een nieuwe straat, met respectievelijk historisch en eigentijds straatmeubilair. ’Signs in the street’ the Dutch contribution to the 1992 Trienal of Milano. It centered on street furniture designed for The Dutch PTT over the past 80 years. The Dutch PTT has a long history in excellent design practice, a practice that stretches from mail stamps and other printed matter, architecture, monumental art to street furniture. La Triennale di Milano is a design museum and events venue in Milan, Italy, located inside the Palace of Art building, part of Parco Sempione, the park grounds adjacent to Castello Sforzesco. It hosts exhibitions and events which highlight contemporary Italian design, urban planning, architecture, music, and media arts, emphasizing the relationship between art and industry. The museum houses the Collezione Permanente, a collection of significant objects in contemporary Italian design. |
