Artis 89 was a foundation, co-initiated by Pierre Bernard from Grapus, that in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the French revolution invited 100 graphic designers world-wide to come up with a poster celebrating freedom.
This poster underwrites the right to be different. In the late 80’s the first wiff of the forced egalitarianism that would characterize the 1990’s began to be noticed. We decided on a fallen angel amongst babies of different moralistic outlook.
